Well I decided to replace both of my radiator hoses today cause they were getting pretty worn on my 240SX. Plus I figured I should change out the coolant anyway. When I got the hoses off, I found bits of rock, sand, and hardened sand on the hose connections! I run my finger down the line where the coolant enters and leaves the engine block and found more bits of rock and sand! AHH! My car was turning into a concrete factory!!! I’m quite surprised that my water-pump still works.
Needless to say, I ordered that stupid $110 peice of junk brittle plastic overflow tank from Nissan and will have it on thursday! Let this be a lesson to never drive 50,000 miles with a cracked/broken overflow tank — lots of dust accumulates and goes into your engine that way!
Ouch!
Well… If the pump isn’t damaged, it will sure be shiny!
